The Senior Safety Engineer is responsible for leading the safety risk assessment and development of documentation required to support changes to NAS systems or operational procedures. This individual is responsible for the development and approval of safety products conforming to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) safety standards supporting the deployment of oceanic surveillance capabilities by Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) world-wide.

This individual is responsible for developing Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) documentation during the system design phase to perform an initial risk assessment and develop safety level requirements and specifications early in the acquisition. This individual is responsible for System Hazard Assessments (SHA) and Sub-System Hazard Assessments (SSHA) supporting the deployment of new operational capabilities. This individual is responsible for the development of fault and event trees using bow tie analysis techniques.

Requirements:
